Welcome to our Fall Festival!

We are entering what, for many people, is the best time of the year. It’s been such a hot summer — and as I write this we’re still looking at some 90-degree days ahead of us. With fall comes cooler temperatures, college football, family gatherings, and more time outdoors.

And we’re all looking forward to the fall color. Mentone (indeed, all of Lookout Mountain) is blessed with an abundance of trees that put on an amazing color show most years. I’m hoping we’ll have a spectacular display in the coming weeks, one that takes us into a peaceful Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
Mentone’s biggest event is just around the corner. I hope to see you at the Mentone Fall Festival on October 19. Get an early start on your Christmas shopping with one-of-a-kind art pieces. You’ll find everything from paintings and photographs to pottery, woodwork, jewelry, and clothing.
And don’t forget the live music and food. Best of all, you’ll spend the day seeing folks you know and making new friends as you enjoy our town’s premier event.
The Mentone Fall Festival has additional benefits in that it raises funds to help the Town of Mentone renovate and maintain the Moon Lake campus. This property is an important part of our community’s heritage, and by making it available to the community with shops, galleries, education, and a new restaurant opening soon, we are allowing it to continue the legacy that began here a century ago.
While you’re in town, stop by the many other businesses who are preparing to welcome you with special offerings and events to celebrate the season. I hope to see you Saturday, October 19.
