Much to Look Forward to This Fall

A taqueria owned by the Reyes family from Albertville is coming to Valley Head.

There’s a lot of excitement in Valley Head this fall! As we’ve mentioned, our downtown is about to welcome a new restaurant — a taqueria owned by the Reyes family from Albertville. The family also operates restaurants in Boaz and Albertville, and we are thrilled they’ve chosen Valley Head for their newest location. The taqueria will be moving into the former barber shop space downtown, and we look forward to the delicious food and the new visitors it will bring to our community.

Mark your calendars for the next Hot Rods in the Valley, happening Saturday, Sept. 27 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. around the square. Tiger’s Inn and Side Street Deli will be open with dinner specials, so come out and enjoy an evening full of classic cars, good food, and great company.

We’re also continuing to move forward on important infrastructure improvements. With the help of TARCOG, we are pursuing grants to pave four more streets within the town limits — an investment in the safety and future of our community.

We are happy to welcome Scott Pepper to the town council, and look forward to working with him. The new council and I will be sworn in on November 3 at our regular council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. A reception will follow, and everyone is welcome to attend. And don’t forget — our annual Trunk or Treat will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, in conjunction with Hot Rods in the Valley. Bring your little ghosts, superheroes, and princesses for a fun, family-friendly evening on the square.

Finally, a reminder: Town Council meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. As always, the public is welcome to attend.
