Three On A String to Headline Mentone Fall Festival

Singer/Songwriter Pierce Pettis set to perform in his hometown
Alabama’s ambassadors of music and mirth are coming to Mentone, bringing their songs, laughs, and signature style to the Mentone Fall Festival.
Three On A String will headline the music portion of the Mentone Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18. These talented musicians were inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, and they travel the country sharing their unique blend of music and comedy.
Also confirmed to grace the stage of the Shigley Amphitheater is Pierce Pettis. A long-time Mentone resident, Pettis has enjoyed a storied career in music that includes numerous albums on Compass Records and a touring schedule that takes him across the country. Beyond his own albums, Pettis’ songs have been recorded by the likes of Joan Baez, Art Garfunkle, Susan Ashton, and Dar Williams. Garth Brooks had a huge hit with Pettis’ song, “You Move Me.”
In addition to a full day of music, the Mentone Fall Festival will feature more than 80 art vendors, featuring pottery, paintings, photography, fabric art, and a wide variety of handmade items.
The festival brings thousands to the Moon Lake Campus. It also raises money to help maintain and restore the historic property, which has been converted from a closed elementary school to a home for shops, galleries, a restaurant, and college classes.
Businesses and corporations are encouraged to support this work by becoming a sponsor. “Together, we are creating something that will impact the cultural and economic future of our region for generations,” says event coordinator and artist Deedee Morrison.
