Local Mayors Encourage America 250! Celebrations

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) has asked members to honor our nation’s history by commemorating the Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to promoting community service, preserving history, educating children, and honoring and supporting those who serve our nation.

Hannah White Arnett Chapter, NSDAR, of Fort Payne has received 6 America 250! Proclamations from Mayors in DeKalb County to encourage celebrations in their communities this year. Those participating include Mayor Rob Hammond, Mentone; Mayor Karen Vest, Valley Head; Mayor Tony Hammonds, Hammondville; Mayor Brian Baine, Fort Payne; Mayor Paul Cagle, Fyffe; and Mayor Jeff Chandler, Collinsville.
