ALL Kids Insurance Program Marks 25 Years

As Alabama’s ALL Kids program marks its 25th anniversary, it continues to serve as a critical source of health coverage for children in DeKalb County.

Part of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), ALL Kids provides low-cost insurance to children under 19 whose families earn too much for Medicaid but still need help affording care. In rural communities, the program helps fill gaps in access to regular checkups, prescriptions, dental and vision services, and hospital care.

Health officials say programs like ALL Kids are especially important in areas with fewer healthcare providers, helping ensure children can receive preventive care close to home.

To qualify, children must be Alabama residents, uninsured, and meet income guidelines.
