Cub Scouts Trip to the Gulf Packed with Adventure and Education

This past spring break, Cub Scout Pack 4178 embarked on a historical, educational, yet fun trip to Mobile. There the Scouts and families visited the aquarium on Dauphin Island, the USS Alabama, USS Drum, Mobile History Museum, Fort Conde, Africatown Heritage Center, and several historic Mobile restaurants.

The pack, along with siblings and parents, was able to stay together in a beach house on Dauphin Island — all 19 of us! Despite the cold water temperatures, the kids swam in the chilly Gulf while parents watched them from the sandy white shore.

Cub Scouting helps children make new friends, embark on adventures, develop new interests, engage in service to others, and practice leadership skills that will greatly benefit them in the future.

Thanks to donations, fundraisers, and St. Joseph’s on-the-Mountain Episcopal Church, this trip was possible. Meaningful memories were made and good times were had with our new pack.
