The Groundhog is a monthly community newspaper that delivers “Neighborly News from the Heart of Lookout Mountain.” It is published by MERF, a rural education and community development organization.
MERF’s mission is to “enrich the learning and living of our community by identifying needs and coordinating resources.” This nonprofit was organized in 1993 to support life-long learning in the Mentone, Alabama, area through a variety of school and community programs serving all ages.
