Love is Everywhere

I love my February tiara! Its hearts are sparkly and playful, and absolutely oozes love. It makes me smile every time I put it on. I also love sunrises and sunsets on the mountain — especially those breathtaking silver and gold ones that appear after a rain shower. I love watching kittens and puppies play, then curl up and sleep. I love a good book that makes me think, and sometimes even cry.
These small, tender moments remind me that love doesn’t always arrive with fireworks. Often, it whispers, gliding seamlessly into our attention. For many years, we’ve been captivated by stories of love — from the 1970 film “Love Story” with Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal, to the timeless tale of “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare. My mother was a huge fan of the Harlequin romance novels when I was a kid.
These stories remind us that love has always been central to the human experience. It shapes us, challenges us, and can teach us what it means to be alive. The human spirit blossoms and flourishes in the high vibrations of giving and receiving love. That may be one reason so many dating apps have appeared in the past decade. Places to meet new and interesting people are sometimes limited to the internet, and beneath the technology and profiles, we are still seeking the same things: appreciation, recognition, affirmation, connection, and love.
But love is not only romantic. It lives in friendships, in quiet kindness, in shared laughter, in moments of understanding, and in the simple act of being seen. So, if you are searching for love, don’t give up. It often appears when we least expect it. Enjoy those flowers, candy, and other goodies you receive this month, whether someone gives them to you or you treat yourself. They are simple expressions of heartfelt love. You deserve it!
And sometimes love looks like my sparkly February tiara, reminding us to keep our hearts open. You never know when moments of loving and being loved will appear.
