May’s Gulf Music Festival Returns to the JSU Little River Canyon Center

The May’s Gulf Music Festival returns on October 19 to Jacksonville State University’s Little River Canyon Center with a lineup of great talent and great food. The music series is named for May’s Gulf, the former name for Little River Canyon.

Singer-songwriter Andrew Duhon and his band will kick off the evening with songs from Duhon’s introspective album, “Emerald Blue.” Duhon, a native of New Orleans, applies the rich blues, folk, and soul that surrounded him as a young artist to new creations that seem timeless. Next up will be a popular treat: The group of local artists who make up Collective Revue will present A Bob Seger Tribute. Seger wrote and recorded many classic rock songs during his prolific career, such as “Like a Rock,” “Against the Wind,” “Night Moves,” and many others.

“As always, our goal is to provide a truly memorable experience set against the stunning backdrop of the Little River Canyon,” says Pete Conroy, director of the Canyon Center. “We invite everyone to join us at the May’s Gulf Music Festival and enjoy the magic of music in the mountains.”

Woody’s food truck and Victoria’s Tacos & Quesadillas will be on hand to satisfy your appetite as you relax and take in the tunes. The proceeds from the show will benefit environmental education. The doors will open at 5 p.m. The performance is a rain or shine event. Coolers, lawn chairs, and leashed pets are welcome.
