SenioRx and Medicare Part D

There are times when Medicare Part C or D can work with SenioRx to help you get your needed medications. If you are in the Gap or “Doughnut Hole,” there could be options available to assist you in getting those medications free or at low cost through the SenioRx program. Most of the time, the medications must be the more expensive name-brand drugs.
SenioRx is a prescription drug assistance program that helps eligible clients receive free or low-cost prescription drugs from the drug companies. The program is for people 55 and older AND people with disabilities of any age who have a chronic medical condition and need name-brand medicines. The program is brought to you by the Alabama Department of Senior Services and the 13 area agencies on aging, serving as Aging and Disability Resource Centers for Alabama. There are income requirements. Certain Medicare Part D insurances are accepted.
To see if you qualify, or for other prescription drug assistance, call your local SHIP (state health insurance assistance program) counselor, Lynn Hixon, or the Senior Rx coordinator, DiAnne Callahan, at the DeKalb County Council on Aging at 256-845-8590
