Taste of the Mountain and Art Auction Returns for Another Unforgettable Evening

Art lovers, foodies, and supporters of arts education should get ready for one of the best nights of the year. Camp Alpine is the site of the much-anticipated Taste of the Mountain and Art Auction, set for Saturday, April 12. This beloved annual event serves as a major fundraiser for MERF, ensuring Valley Head School students continue to benefit from a strong arts program.
On the Auction Block
Inspired by art teacher Caroline Moore, students have created beautiful, imaginative works available for bidding. MERF’s Fine Arts Program plays a vital role in fostering creativity and self-expression, and this event showcases the talents of students in grades K-6. Beyond learning technique and artistic expression, students gain valuable skills through their participation in the arts — problem-solving, critical thinking, and a sense of pride in their work.
In addition to student artwork, local professional artists contribute unique pieces to the auction, giving everyone a chance to own one of their creations. The lineup of artists and their works will be announced soon, but attendees can expect an exciting selection of paintings, sculptures, pottery, and mixed-media pieces.
And it’s not just art on the auction block — exclusive experience packages are always a favorite among bidders. Think getaways to unique destinations, private chef dinners, and other curated offerings.
Local Flavors
Of course, the evening wouldn’t be complete without sampling the incredible food prepared by a lineup of local restaurants and businesses. And their generosity extends beyond this evening, as many also support MERF’s Senior Lunch program. Come hungry and enjoy meeting the folks who run these eateries.

Ben Shurett returns as auctioneer, bringing his signature energy and enthusiasm to the bidding. With an outstanding selection of artwork, one-of-a-kind experiences, and delicious local food, this is an evening you don’t want to miss.
