Valley Head Cemetery Holds Final 5k and 10k

September 27 marked our 10th annual Valley Head Cemetery 5K and 10K races. It is with deep regret that this was our farewell run. The Valley Head Cemetery Association wants to thank everyone who helped make our race a success through the years. The sponsors, the memorials, the runners, the walkers, and the volunteers. A special thanks to Sign-O-Mite in Ider for doing such a great job with the graphics and printing of our race shirts; Gary’s Warehouse for donating a compact refrigerator or a freezer for our grand prize every year; Town of Hammondville; Town of Valley Head; Valley Head Police Department; and Robert Johnson for letting us have the use of his construction office for the race. We could not have done it without every single one of you.
I’ve always heard it takes a village to raise a child. Well, I’ve found it takes a village to have a successful race. I want to thank everybody for all your support through the years. Thank you to everyone who came to run or walk one final time “In Memory of Our Loved Ones at The Valley Head Cemetery.”
