Fall Festival to Include Area Nonprofits and New Children’s Activities

Excitement is building as the October 19 Mentone Fall Festival draws closer. Many nonprofit organizations will be represented again this year, so plan to stop by their tents to learn more about what they do for our community.

The Little River Arts Council tent will be stocked with merchandise. The organization is also managing the vendors for the festival.

Moon Lake Public Library will have a book sale in an outside tent as well as inside the library building.

MERF will offer information on the organization’s programming along with merchandise for sale. Be sure to stop by and meet Alyce Keeney, the new executive director.

Stop and say “thank you” and grab some food at the DeSoto Rescue Squad. Tent. Learn about the organization from volunteers, who’ll be selling hot dogs under their tent and answering any questions visitors might have. They’ll also be accepting donations.

The Rhododendron Garden Club has volunteered to decorate the Shigley Stage of the amphitheater, and will host a plant sale under their tent.

Visitors can stop for a warm welcome at the American Legion tent and learn more about their organization.

Kids will have a blast at the festival, and organizers have added even more fun things for them to do. This includes face painting, a ball bounce, crafts, and tie-dye t-shirts.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is still time to pledge support for the festival, which benefits the improvement of the Moon Lake School campus.
