Snow Turns Mentone into Winter Wonderland

Readers Share Their Photos During a Weekend of White

Just as the forecasters predicted, a band of snow fell across our state the weekend of January 10, followed by slush and wintry mix as temperatures rose during the day, and ice set in at nightfall, forcing roads and many businesses to close. By most measures, some 2 to 3 inches of snow blanketed our part of the state, and it showed no signs of a quick melt over the weekend.

Cloudmont Ski & Golf began making snow at sunrise on Friday the 10th, bringing eager skiers and snowboarders out to test their mettle. And as of press time, the slopes were in full swing due to consistently cold weather.

Luckily, folks relished the chance to capture the frozen scenes with their cameras. We asked and you delivered your unique perspectives of the frozen scenes around you. Thanks for sharing your snow memories with us!
