The Mentone Arts Center’s Gallery Is a Must-See

Opened in 2020, the Mentone Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) corporation established to operate and maintain the Chuck Sennett Center for the Arts. The center was named in honor of the late Atlanta aerial photographer Charles O. “Chuck” Sennett, the son of the center’s two earliest supporters, Dr. Charles O. “Soc” and Barbara Sennett.

Beyond its collection of art for sale, the center hosts workshops and events throughout the year. Many of the displays are on wheels, allowing them to be rolled back to open the floor for seating for attendees to enjoy live music on the Ray and Sandra Padgett stage.

“We exist to ‘promote, propagate, and protect our community’s artistic roots for current and future generations,’” says Randy Grider, the art center’s executive director. Toward that end, the center also collaborates with other local non-profit organizations, including the Little River Arts Council and the Mentone Educational Resources Foundation.
